Sh! Update.....

Just a quick update....

Sh! has been really busy working on the final year of the PSNI Lifetime Achievement Awards, it really has been   a privelidge to have been chosen out of many to make   both the commissioned awards   for three years now.

Private commissions have been keeping   Sh! busy as well this year.   The new service of re-using silver and gold jewellery has really been quite popular!! My most recent work can be seen in "Commissions" photo gallery. The last piece made was a set of stacked bangles. One of the bangles was made from a silver ingot while the other bangle was made from melting a matching necklace and bracelet. All items of original jewellery were sentimental   to the owner but they had aged and were not being worn . They are now new pieces of contemporary jewellery that can be worn on a daily basis.

If you have any silver or gold jewellery, jewellery   with diamonds or precious stones that you do not wear but have sentimental value....melt, re-use and wear!!! :-)

P.s. Keep an eye out for some new brooches Sh! is busy creating as we speak!! ;-)

Sh! can work with you to design a new piece with your old jewellery. We start by melting down the old and creating and reworking the new!!! It is also possible to re-use stones to create a new piece of jewellery to your individual taste!

Sh! (Suzanne Harbinson)

"Growth from decay" makes me think of pollution-induced mutations (like the boy with 16 toes) — but here's Suzanne Harbinson's interpretation. The UK jeweller, whose collection draws inspiration from stones and pebbles, created the sprouting rings above.

PSNI Lifetime achievment award

A few months back I applied for the opportunity to make three trophies for the PSNI, I was granted the opportunity and have completed the first award. Here are a few images of when the piece was handed over.

Sh!

Just a little update...

Hey....

Well since my last update I have been quite busy...I   have been selected   to produce the 'Police Staff Lifetime Achievement Award' making three award trophies to be awarded over three years. The first award is very nearly complete...just applying the finishing touches!!

As I have been busy making...the professional imagery has been put on hold but   will be resumed as soon as it possibly can be.

Myself and the other makers on the Making It Programme were organising an exhibition to take place in the foye of University of Ulster Belfast, using the vacant cabinets that are origially from the Ulster Museum in Belfast. The exhibition has been put on hold until craft month in August..but we have put some temporary pieces in the cabinits which we will be changing now and again...so feel free to go and have a look if you are in the area!!

With the Making It programme we have business training session's I just want to mension yesterdays session as we had a visiting maker Rebecca Gouldson....she spoke about her work and experiences and all the makers on the programme found it really helpful and inspiring. I was especially inspired as she works with metal, etching   the   surfaces creating textures and patterns...absoloultley stunning work!! see images below and check out her website www.rebeccagouldson.co.uk

Hey there.....

Well I have completed my business start up programme...now i just have to apply all the info to my business...trying to make a start at the moment!!.....yawn!

I recently made 20 pendants for the Irish Football Association...each piece had to be unique of course but also remain in the same style...so it was a bit of challenge...just the way i like it!!! The pieces will be given to all 20 worldwide FIFA Presidents wives who will be attending a prestigious event in Northern Ireland very soon!

Keep an eye on the website...at the moment I am trying to organise professional photography... so i hope to have an update of all my ranges on the website asap....!!
